BISMARCK - Check the dates, set your calendar, and don't cook supper. Instead, plan to attend the seventh Celebrate Church! event. Once again, supper will be brought and served by Bishop Zipfel and the diocesan staff.
Now isn't that a fun way to begin an evening of gathering and learning? Throughout our Diocese of Bismarck we have wonderful, faithful people who always have to bring potluck and serve the meal. At Celebrate Church! Bishop's diocesan staff hopes you will come so we can serve you. It is an evening of prayer, food, fun, and fast paced learning.
If you haven't yet been to one of these events, let me explain. Five evenings are scheduled for five locations throughout the diocese. The event consists of supper brought and served by Bishop Zipfel and his staff, a keynote speaker, childcare for the children, and the opportunity to take in three 20 minute mini sessions of your choice. The timeframe is 6:00 to 8:30 PM local time at each location. The staff also brings resource material and can set future dates for workshops or meetings in their expertise if requested.

Location Schedule:
Tuesday, Sept. 16 - St. Joseph, Killdeer
Wednesday, September 17 - St. Mary, Foxholm
Wednesday, September 24 - St. Theresa, Carson
Thursday, September 25 - St. Bonaventure, Underwood
Wednesday, October 1 - St. Patrick, Crosby
After supper and the keynote there will be eight excellent breakout sessions from which to choose.
- Bishop Paul A. Zipfel
-Office of Publications - Marge Grosz, director
-Office of Family Ministry, Joyce McDowall, director
-Office of Canonical Affairs-Rev. Chris Kadrmas, JCL (Judicial Vicar)
-Office of African Mission, Deacon Jim and Henrietta Nistler, directors
-Office of Risk Management, Roman Weiler, director
- Office of Faith Formation, Betty Greff, director
-Office of Planning, Deacon Lynn Clancy, director
- Office of Finance, Laura Huber, director
This year's keynote presenter is Christopher Dodson, Executive Director of ND Catholic Conference. He will speak on Your Faith, Your Vote regarding the importance of participation by each of us as Catholic citizens in the upcoming elections.
Between the keynote and three sessions you will agree there is much more to church than Sunday liturgy. Most individuals who have gone say they wished there was more time to take in more sessions. This really is an opportunity to Celebrate Church! Church is about community gathering and building, food for body and soul, and learning about the rich and life changing quality of our Catholic faith. So is Celebrate Church! As we journey on this path of life, learning and growing should always be a part of that journey. Give yourself the opportunity and attend one of these evening celebrations.
